Terms of service

The ground rules for using Novi.

Last updated October 2026

Using Novi

Novi is a research tool for students. You need an account to use the workspace, and you are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for what happens under your account.

You must not use Novi to break the law, to infringe anyone's rights, to attempt to access other users' data, or to place unreasonable load on the service.

Academic integrity is your responsibility

Novi is designed to help you research, reference and revise your own work. It does not guarantee a grade, and it does not claim that any output is undetectable by AI-detection systems or free of plagiarism concerns.

You are responsible for complying with your institution's rules on the use of AI, for verifying every generated reference before submitting, and for the work you hand in.

Accuracy of generated output

AI features can be wrong. Summaries, extracted arguments, suggested evidence and formatted references should always be checked against the original source. Novi deliberately flags missing bibliographic detail rather than inventing it, but the final check is yours.

Plans and billing

Paid plans are billed through Stripe on a monthly or yearly basis. Upgrades, downgrades and cancellations are self-serve, and your plan updates when payment succeeds. Cancelling stops future renewals; access continues to the end of the paid period.

Where a payment fails, access to paid features may be suspended until the payment is resolved.

Availability and changes

Novi is provided as-is. Features may change or be improved over time, and the service may occasionally be unavailable for maintenance or because of a fault in a third-party provider.

Your content

You keep ownership of the work you create in Novi. You grant Novi only the permission needed to store and process that content so the features can work.

This policy describes how Novi currently works and is provided as a starting template. Have it reviewed before relying on it as a legal document in your jurisdiction.
